Class of 1965 Reunion

Class of 1965 Reunion

   May 23          12:30       Lunch at the Buck Head Grill followed by class photo on the steps of the Eight Avenue School - 2:30 pm.

   May 25          10:00     Meet at Sixth and Main Streets to participate in the 86th Bellevue - Dayton Memorial Day Parade.

Remembrance Service to honor deceased class members is being planned.

College Signing Day

Dayton High School will be hosting College Signing Day for our seniors on Friday, March 27th.  The ceremony will begin at 1:45 in the gymnasium.  Our seniors will be recognized in  front of the whole school as they share with us the college they have chosen.  We are very proud of our senior class!  Go Devils!


Students of the Month

Congratulations to the following students for being recognized as Student of the Month in March:

Janis Howard – 7th Grade

Jonathan Jimenez – 8th Grade

Nathan Reatherford – 9th Grade

Buddy Lukens – 10th Grade

Katie Tillman – 11th Grade

Tyler Polly – 12th Grade

These students will be recognized at the Board of Education meeting on Wednesday, March 25th at 6:00.  Congratulations Greendevils!


College Signing Day

Attention SENIORS and Parents/Guardians of Seniors.

If your student has met the following requirements, they will be participating in College Signing Day.

This will take place next week on Friday, March 27th.

Please join us for Lunch at 12:30 and the College Signing Day event will begin at 1:30.  You will receive an invitation in the mail.

Did you complete these requirements?
1. You must participate in a Senior Conference with a counselor along with your parent/guardian.
2. You must retake the ACT or Compass your senior year.
3. You must apply to at least three and be accepted to at least one college/university/technical school/military branch.
4. You must take at least once college visit during your senior year.
5. You must complete the FAFSA.


DECA

This week seven DHS students participated in the DECA regional and state competitions in Louisville, Kentucky.  These students were tasked with writing a detailed 20-30 page paper, creating a presentation board, and presenting in front of a panel of judges. Danielle Hubbard and Megan Tumler received first in Public Relations Project for their promotion of the charity Project Linus.  Buddy Lukens, Noelle Brooks, and Priscilla Michaels placed first in the Entrepreneurship Written event for their school tutoring company Mega Check. In addition, Mallory Kubala and Elijah Johnson placed first in their event, Community Service Project for their project Clean Captivating Communities.  These students were able to beat out schools from Scott County, Franklin County, and several other schools in DECA's 4th Region.  Thanks to Ms. Hawkins as well who is the Club Sponsor.  Way to go Devils!
